Tommy Collins revisited with “You Better Not Do That”
Tommy Collins suffered life’s ups and downs like many others. When I talk to someone about preserving classic country music, and continuing the tradition today, I often look at the life of Tommy Collins.
On my personal blog I have a video of Tommy during the bad days. From time to time I watch the video, but then I watch Tommy during the good days, and I watch videos like Merle Haggard performing Tommy’s “Roots Of My Raising.”
After talking with Liz Talley yesterday, I am reminded of the venues that are important to our kind of music. My memories take me back to those who poured out their life, heart, and soul for the music.
Tommy Collins is no exception. While Merle said a lot with “Leonard”, Tommy said a lot with his songs. Here is “You Better Not Do That”
