“Take Me Back To Happy Valley” by The Bailey Brothers is a bluegrass song with plenty of history. The Bailey Brothers, who began performing in the late 1930s, were among the first bluegrass acts to employ the tight vocal harmony technique that became known as the brother duet style.

You can hear the song directly from the Rounder Records website, CD Universe, and on WQAH FM in Hartselle Alabama. WQAH gave me the idea to write this review of the song. The station just finished playing it moments ago.

“Take Me Back To Happy Valley” is the name of the CD and the title track. Here is the link.

When it comes to good bluegrass music, along with pure country and pure gospel WQAH is our choice. You can click our icon near the top of our pages to start listening. I realized that I feature great pure country classics here at The Country Classics, but not enough bluegrass and gospel songs. I will correct that starting today.

The Bailey Brothers “Take Me Back To Happy Valley” CD is alive with great bluegrass songs. Great fiddle playing adds to this wonderful collection of music. This is actually bluegrass gospel, as evidenced by this track list:

3. Sweet Alla Lee
4. I’ll Meet You in the Morning
5. Happy Valley Theme
6. He Whispers Sweet Peace to Me

9. Heaven
10. Honeysuckle Rose

12. Camping in Cannan’s Land
13. What a Change One Day Can Make
14. Whispering Hope

The original release date of “Take Me Back To Happy Valley” was 1975, and it was released by Rounder Records. The title song is written by John Lair. We hope you enjoy this featured CD.
