Episode seven of Tru Country opened with James Hand singing “The Parakeet”, and it was a great start to the show. The band was hot, as always, and James Hand was a treat to see. Viewers haven’t seen James Hand since the first show of the season.
The Lone Star Opry will be hosting a private, backstage reception for Johnny Bush on May 3rd. Tickets to the event are $25 and limited to the first 100 who respond. Ticket price gets admission to private pre-concert reception, Lone Star Autograph Book, Photo ops with the performers and band, finger-foods & drinks, and admission to the evening’s opry concert.
Many of you watched the premier of TruCountry on RFD TV. Judging by the number of web searches after the show it seems many of you want to know more about what you saw. I’m glad to see so much interest in traditional country music.

Miss Leslie and Her Juke-Jointers play honky tonk country music with a 50s and 60s flair. Combining original material (mainly written by Miss Leslie) along with obscure country tunes that they have unearthed from the 50s and 60s, the band opens up new sounds in a retro honky-tonk setting.
