From the desk of Tracy Pitcox: Johnny Bush was born in the blue-collar neighborhood of Kashmere Gardens in Houston, Texas. Bush listened to the western swing music of Bob Wills and His Texas Playboys and the honky-tonk sounds of artists like Ernest Tubb, Lefty Frizzell and Hank Thompson.
From the desk of Tracy Pitcox… “Heart of Texas Records is pleased to announce our latest release by the “Princess of Country Music” Georgette Jones. “Slightly Used Woman” is the first full album by the daughter of George Jones and Tammy Wynette. This twelve song CD is filled with great Traditional Country music performed by the only person to have both parents in the Country Music Hall of Famer.
Heart of Texas Records is very excited to release their latest project from Texas Country Music Legend Joe Paul Nichols. “The Best of Joe Paul Nichols Volume II” contains twenty one of Joe Paul’s most requested songs in one CD.
The Heart of Texas Country Music Association will celebrate its 21th Anniversary on Friday and Saturday, March 19th and 20th, and Friday and Saturday, March 26th and 27th at the Ed Davenport Civic Center in Brady.
Joe Paul Nichols achievements in country music span many years. Well deserved awards dot this talented artist’s career, and he is not finished yet. Joe Paul Nichols will release another CD on Heart of Texas Records in February.
The Mason Country Opry will be staged on Thursday, October 29, at the Odeon Theater in downtown Mason. Heart of Texas Recording Artists Curtis Potter will headline the monthly show. Tickets are $10.00 and will be for sale at the door.
Darrell McCall has released a new CD titled “Keeping With Tradition”. This brand new twelve song CD is filled with great Country Music in the Darrell McCall tradition.
Darrell McCall will headline the Marble Falls Opry this month. McCall grew up listening to the music and guitar picking of Merle Travis. He started his own Saturday morning country deejay show on WSRW radio in Hillsboro Ohio, at the age of fifteen. McCall began playing dances as a musician and joined the United States Army Reserves after high school.
The Llano Country Opry will be staged on Saturday, July 18, 2009 at the Lantex Theater in downtown Llano.
