RON WILLIAMS: Texas Style

The son of Leona Williams and the step son of Merle Haggard, Ron Williams gets plenty of air time on Willies Place, XM-13 under the old format before the XM-Sirius merger. We can only hope that he continues to receive the air time and recognition he deserves. This link will play “There’s One On Every Jukebox In Town” using Windows Media player.

With Ron’s family history and influence one can see where he’s coming from and why he is a rising star. In the traditional sense Ron is just as good when covering country classics like “Playboy” written and performed originally by Wynn Stewart, or performing songs of his own. “There’s One on Every Jukebox In Town” is a great song and Williams does a great job with a strong voice.

Speaking to his family background in country music Williams said “You would think that music would have been all I had ever done, but in fact, I really didn’t find the courage to pursue music until after high school.” Suffice it to say that Ron Williams found his niche, and will be around for a long time. A great traditionalist, if you like Merle Haggard you’ll like Ron Williams.
