Remembering CW McCall and Roses For Mama

Many years back country music went through a period where the artists would talk to the listener. Songs like “Teddy Bear” and “Roses For Mama” told heartbreaking stories. Songs like that often touched one’s heart. They were too real.

There has always been honesty in country music. While those types of songs are not as well known today, they will always be part of country music history.

Some of our readers pointed out that many of the honky tonk songs we write about are great, but without some slow songs only marathon runners could dance to our music selection for more than 20 minutes.

We also realized we didn’t have CW McCall in the library.

So while you figure out how to dance to it, here is CW McCall on Youtube, and “Roses For Mama”:

This title has been spelled many different ways. CW McCall spells it ‘Mama”, while others spell it Momma or Mamma. We will add all the keywords so you can find CW McCall and “Roses For Mama” no matter how you spell it.
