More changes at DirecTv, Willies Place is gone
Fans of traditional country music listening on Direct TV channel 811 noticed changes starting yesterday according to early reports. Where listeners once heard Willies Place they now hear Honky Tonk Tavern.
DirecTv music channels are now powered by SonicTap, which is MusicNet, which counts a catalog of 4.5 million tracks.
John Malone, owner of DirecTV, has two seats on the Sirius XM board in exchange for $430 million in loans, to be doled out in two phases.

DirecTv simply released this statement:
Effective February 9, 2010, DIRECTV Music Channels feature music from SonicTap, replacing XM/Sirius. SonicTap offers DIRECTV customers more music channels than XM, with no interruptions. SonicTap provides the same range of musical genres previously available, with comparable channel formats. Please visit directv.com/music for full Music Channel listings, including a comparison between SonicTap and XM/Sirius formats.

808 Roadhouse Country, now is Traditional Country
809 Prime Country Country, now is Hit Country
810 Outlaw Country Country, now is Red, Rock and Blues
811 Willie’s Place Country, now is Honky Tonk Tavern
812 Bluegrass Junction Bluegrass, now is Bluegrass
813 The Village Folk, now is Folk Rock
814 The Highway Country, now is Modern Country
