Levi Coby and Scott McBurney salute the troops

Some of you know that Nancy and I are retired. Nancy served in the Army for 20 years. I served in the Marines from December 1968 through June of 1993. War has been part of civilization since Biblical days, a fact of life in civilized society, although many say war is not civilized at all.

We are friends of traditional country music – an art form loved by civilized society from all countries and all walks of life. Friendships are precious and music transcends all boundaries, and creates friendships. Great songwriters like Levi Coby can invoke emotions that transcend understanding.

The video shown here features Levi Coby as a singer – an artist – performing a song written by Scott McBurney. Vocals and arrangement are by Levi Coby.

Around the world, fathers and mothers love their children, and most people want peace and stability. On an individual level people around the world can be friends. We all laugh, cry, and hold our children. I know it’s not always that simple, but it should be.

If we let real people – musicians, songwriters, artists, and fans – solve the world’s problems this would be a different world. For now, however, please allow us a few minutes to see reality.

All countries honor their heroes. This video is a tribute to the troops.

(We know Levi Coby has many friends around the world, so please note that Youtube policies prevent video playback in some countries.)

Let me leave you with a sobering thought. My name is on the wall at the Vietnam Memorial. Timothy M. Blake died in the fighting in the Ia Drang Valley in November 1965. I did not join the Marines until December 1968. Same name, same middle initial – and a very eerie feeling. Life is precious all around the world.
