As always, it’s wonderful talking to all of you, and sending you to Eddie Kilroy’s website. What we discovered is that many of you had a ‘handle’ when you called Eddie at Willies Place. Perhaps the most interesting part is putting real names and email addresses with the ‘on-air handles’. (I know one day I forgot what I was doing, and when Kilroy asked who was one the phone I said my entire name, instead of ‘Tim from Windsor Missouri”. I knew I was calling a person I regarded as a friend, and forgot about the radio. Luckily we were not on the air anyway.)
In closing allow me to say thank you to Eddie, Elizabeth, and Cooter too. Please show them your support. Keep in mind that Eddie has so many fans that it may be a whole new career trying to answer them, so be patient. You know that Eddie and Elizabeth won’t forget you.
While you are at it do you want to contact Catfish? I have the form right here on the website, at the bottom of my article.

Eddie and Elizabeth,
I am so mad at myself for taking this long to finally wake up to how to find you.
I enjoyed everytime I turned the XM13 on (my radio default channel).
Not sure what has happened but you two were really fun to listen to.
You introduced me to Cowboy Poetry and the likes of Baxter Black, Red Steagall and Joel Nelson (one of my favorites) Breaker in the Pen, and another that absolutely suits me to a tee. His name is Jim Shafer. When I first heard Rose of Coahuilla, it made my heart jump. I never heard any music with a beat like that.
So every time you played those new genres for me I hit the record button and slowly built a whole new collection of music and poetry.
Eventually I got on the Internet and began to search those websites for Cowboy poetry. You can’t find that stuff in a music store around Kentucky.
So anything I want to buy, I get from the Internet.
What has happened to Bill Mack? When I was on the road in the ’70’s, he was on WBAP and was a good listen late night. But it seems that time has past him by. He seems to think because he is Bill Mack, he can say anything and get away with it. He is really bad now. I feel really sorry for his wife who doesn’t seem to be able to hold those ramblings in check.
I remember when you were on that you tried to get Bill’s son to call home. I wonder if this son Billy, is the same son you talked to?
I really miss you, Elizabeth (very classy lady) and Catfish, too.
It didn’t make any difference what time you tuned in, it was equally enterrtaining.
How did Clarence survive?
Well, enough for now. You will bounce back even stronger. I only hope it doesn’t take me this long to find you when you do surface again.
Hope you will reply. Would appreciate an email when you do go back on the air.
God Bless you and Elizabeth and Catfish, too.

Eddie and Elizabeth,
I really learned to love the old cowboy country songs when I accidentally happened to tune in to XM 13 for the first time about a year ago. My daughter lives in Texas and it made me feel a littlel closer to listen to such wonderful music. I live in Albany, NY and I listened to XM 13 every day on my way to work and home from work. I was so proud of myself when I started to know who the singers were as soon as I heard the song. The best part of the radio show was listening to the two of you go back and forth. What a unique show and you could tell from the listeners who called in that they just loved you and the music. I listened to the show twice since you have been gone and I am finished with that channel. It is just not the same – not even close. They sound like they are trying too hard to sound good and it is just not working. With you it was so natural. I hope that some smart person hires you back for your own radio show. Shame on those “big shots” who let you both go. They obviously don’t have too much on the ball.
All good things going forward for both of you.
Bella
I am totally disgusted with the administration of XM and “Willie’s Place” …don’t think it has anything to do with Willie either! I have today, written an email to the program director expressing my disappointment in the changes since the first of the year, including the loss of my favorite personalities as well as programs li9ke Gospel Jukebox” “Cowboy Gathering”. The old “Hanks Place” was my main reason for joining the XM subscribers back in about 2000.
My wishes for success go out to you guys for whatever direction your career takes you.

Hello eddie, it’s jerry From Saginaw Michigan buddy.
I’m sorry to hear about you’re departing from xm.
This in turn makes me pretty angery!
But i’ve wrote the program directers and no change is ever gonna get maed.
It’s all got something to do with Mel Karmisin.
This is mainly his fault as he’s trying to kill the old xm!
And if it takes gettin’ rid of good broadcasters than so be it!
And he’s so dumb, he’s gonna lose out in the end.
I am asking everyone to pull there subs from xm never to return till eddie and Catfish and some others return to the air on xm.
But, xm’s dead now, and a new company has evolved that isn’t worth sh*** and sounds just like it.
So i hope all of the fans will cancel.
The more that cancel the more they will realise what they did wrong!
Take away what mell enjoys (money) and he’ll gladly hire anyone back.
We found this out when dish network started giving out mels home number to his house, it’d got his attention so bad that he braught cbs back to the markets that charlie had trouble getting now didn’t it?
Now history will repeat itsself again.
Well folks it’s all in your hands now, cancel and show them you’re mad.
Or keep the bs and pay for it.
I wouldn’t and i’ve canceled as of last november.
I had a feeling eddie wasn’t gonna stay there and i knew catfish was gone too.
When they took away Ray Knite, and Country Dan Dixin, i knew it was coming!
