Ferlin Husky hospitalized in Hermitage Tennessee

July 3, 2009 — Country Music Legend Ferlin Husky has been hospitilized with an accelerated heart rate and possible pneumonia, according to his record label.

Husky, 83 was admitted to the critical care unit of Summit Medical Center in Hermitage, Tennessee, on Thursday afternoon, according to Tracy Pitcox, President of Heart of Texas Records.

Doctors were also treating him for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

“He is very weak and his doctors will be running some further tests on Friday and through the weekend,” Pitcox said.

Husky was most recently hospitalized in April with congestive heart failure and pneumonia after a month long tour in Texas. He has homes in Nashville, Tennessee, and Vienna, Missouri.

The singer has sold over 30 million records including “Wings of A Dove” and “Gone.” His latest album, released in 2007, is called “The Way It Was.”
