Featuring ‘Shoes’ by Patsy Cline written by Hank Cochran
There are country classics, famous artists, and famous songs. Patsy Cline is no exception, but when we think of Patsy we think of “I Fall To Pieces” and many more of her famous songs. Patsy Cline was a honky tonk singer as well, and today we revisit one of those honky tonk songs.
Patsy Cline had only two number one songs in her lifetime and Hank Cochran wrote both of them. The first, “I Fall to Pieces” was written by Hank and fellow songwriting legend Harlan Howard.
“She’s Got You” was Patsy’s second number one and was written in a two-car garage behind Pamper Publishing that Hank Cochran and Willie Nelson used as an office. The inspiration of the song came when Hank opened a drawer in the office and found an old photograph. The song reportedly moved Patsy to tears the first time that she heard it.
Today, however, we present Patsy Cline with “Shoes” and we hope you enjoy it.
A review of Patsy Cline discography does not show this song on the “A” side nor the “B” side of her releases. We discovered “Shoes” by Patsy Cline on disc two of The Patsy Cline collection from 1991. Interestingly enough the song comes immediately after “I Fall To Pieces.”
This video shows you the words to the song. It was also written by the legendary Hank Cochran.
