Featured Song - Mona McCall “Keeper Of My Heart”
Call it traditional country music, Texas music, or just plain good. Today’s featured song is a winner from Mona McCall. “Keeper Of My Heart” has all the makings of a great country song. Fiddles, steel guitar, great vocals, a beautiful voice and a little bit of Cajun French thrown in for good measure makes this our pick of the day.
Let’s cut to the chase. Instead of describing the song, you should hear it for yourself. We bought the CD today, and vouch for the fact that every song is a great county song. A combination of classics, cover songs, and Mona’s best awaits your listening enjoyment. Here is the CD, with sample tracks, or just click on this CD cover:

Between Darrell McCall, Mona McCall, Cody McCall, and Guyanne McCall I would like to be a fly on the wall a jam session. I’ll even sit on Darrell’s lap if I have to.
The Country Classics presents Texas Music as a way to honor traditional country music and country classics, since many of these musicians learned from the greats, played in their bands, worked with them in the studios, and keep the spirit of county music alive. One reviewer said “I have to say that if not for my XM Radio and Willie’s Place, I would not have found out about her. What a pity. She should be know all over the world for her lovely voice.” We agree.
I don’t get paid by Willie’s Place, Mona McCall, or anyone else involved with country music. My wife and I both like classic country music (and classic rock too) and, like the reviewer quoted above, we discovered a whole new world of traditional classic country music through Willie’s Place, XM-13. Kudos to Willie Nelson, Catfish, Eddie Kilroy, Elizabeth, and the entire crew.
How long has it been since you heard “Memory Number One” or “Five Minutes Of The Latest Blues”, especially on the radio? Granted, it may be satellite radio, also carried on DirectTV, but it is the radio. My point exactly.
Is this a featured song article, or a featured CD article? I don’t know and I don’t think anybody cares how I classify it. It’s good pedal steel, a walking bass line, and Justin Trevino on fiddle. Now, if I could just stop singing when the sample cuts end, my wife would quit laughing at me. “Sing along with Timmy” is not funny.
