CEO of Country Music Association resigns immediately
The CEO of the Country Music Association has resigned effective immediately.
The association announced the resignation of Tammy Genovese in a news release Wednesday. No reason was given for her departure.
Genovese began her career with the trade group in 1985 and had been CEO since 2007. Genovese has been with the organization for 24 years.
“I’ve been looking at (resigning) for some time,” Genovese said. “Twenty four years is a long time. I have put my heart and soul into that company. This is one of the most successful years we’ve had, and it just felt like a great time to take a break.”
