Welcome
In our tech tips this week we discuss a way for artists in one country to talk by phone over the Internet. Fans can do it too, but allow me to discuss the business aspect of Google Talk. With a simple USB phone I talk to people around the world, and it doesn’t cost a dime.
For the past few days The Country Classics, based in Windsor Missouri, has been pounded with cold weather. More than 100 school districts have canceled classes for today ahead of the latest round of heavy snow and dangerous cold weather. The wind chill will be 38 degrees below zero tonight. This morning, as I checked the weather report, I thought of Gordon Lighfoot’s song “10 Degrees and Getting Colder”.
Just like NFL players who say, “The Ohio State University” during player introductions, when talking about our website we like to say, “The Country Classics.” It’s hard to confuse Western Swing music and real classic country music with equestrian events and other things. I would look silly in one of those outfits anyway.
With 49 years of experience in country music The Country Classics is now live, in color, and full high definition as we broadcast the news and history of country music. Articles, sound bites and history will soon pack the pages of The Country Classics. Look for personal experiences and first hand details of country music from the late 1950′s through the changing years of the 80′s, plus new traditionalists of today.
