Truck driving songs and traditional country music formed a stong bond many years ago. One of our most popular categories, truck driving songs, appeals to all fans. A friend of mine pointed out that I was missing Tom Lang from our truck driving song category, so let’s get to know more about Tom Lang.

Today we are going through the music library again, and it’s time for a Becky Hobbs CD from 1988 titled “All Keyed Up”. Piano-pounding honky-tonker Becky Hobbs was an Oklahoma native and violinist’s daughter who began playing and making up tunes at age nine.
A new CD arrived today. Jade Jack’s “Growing Up Country” was a big hit at the restaurant. That’s why I open the mail during breakfast. Ours is a country town, and people aren’t bashful. They also know that The Country Classics receives music that is often better than what’s on the local radio.
A cassette tape in the music library caught my attention yesterday as I prepared to write an article about David Lynn Jones. The cassette is a 1989 recording by Clint Black titled “Killin’ Time”, and I immediately remembered the song “A Better Man”. Back in those days I could spot a #1 country song when I heard a recording for the first time. Sadly I cannot pick ‘em like that any more.

Joanie Keller released a fantastic CD this summer as Joanie was inducted into the Nebraska Country Music Hall of Fame. Titled “Me And Dad” the CD also features Joanie’s Dad Bob Haberer on three of the selections.
A new CD is making news today. “More Than Satisfied” by Liz Talley is packed with great music. Liz Talley is a true friend of country music, and you can certainly tell by the quality and sincerity of her music.
