Eddie Kilroy
I know our readers miss the cowboy Eddie Kilroy and his lovely wife Elizabeth on the airwaves. It’s been mighty quiet here in Missouri for the past year. However, we invite you to visit The Kilroy Show where you can see some of what is going on with your favorite radio personality. On January 11th Elizabeth said:
When I left the office on Saturday I forwarded the Country Classics Hotline to my cell phone. Nancy and I planned our Sunday, and anticipated Superbowl 43 between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Arizona Cardinals.
Many of our readers want to contact Eddie Kilroy. Some of you asked questions and we will try to help. The website for Eddie and Elizabeth Kilroy is here. You willl see a picture. Just click or double-click the picture to enter the website.
With the merger of Sirius and XM satellite radio Arbitron ratings seem to mean very little. Relative to Willies Place I see almost no listeners tuning in Howard Stern instead. Arbitron said: “XM does a little better as far as eclectic offerings go. Its best AQH number is for ’80s/’90s/now Mainstream AC “The Blend,” and Modern AC “Flight 26.” But the next highest numbers are for the Classic Country “Willie’s Place.”
January 26, 2009 – I received a call from Eddie Kilroy today, out of the blue and totally unexpected, and a complete shock was soon to follow. Nancy and I work side by side, like Eddie and Elizabeth, and it didn’t take very long for Nancy to realize something was wrong.
Eddie Kilroy had Ray Price on his show this morning and I was lucky enough to talk to both of them. Many people have asked why I don’t have a feature piece about Ray Price, and the true answer is that I’ve been working on it for a while. It just isn’t ready to publish.
Editor’s Note: Another update to this series was posted on January 26, 2009. It is titled Eddie Kilroys last day on Willies Place
