Back in the 1800′s the cowboy hat became a regular part of a cowboy’s daily wear. The wide brim could quickly fan a fire, whip a horse to action, and draw the attention of distant riders. The cowboy hat keeps the sun off your face, and the rain off your back.
We have a cattle auction here in Windsor Missouri every Wednesday. Over the last two weeks the weather made things more difficult, the ground was frozen at times, and some days the thaw brought nothing but mud. Regardless, the cattle trucks keep rolling and ranchers keep hauling their cattle trailers. That’s life in this small Mid-West town.

Ferlin Husky usually gets a lot calls in the spring from friends telling him this has to be the year he’ll be inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame. “Every year I’ve heard that – for the last 15 or 20 years,” Husky said with a laugh. This time it’s true.

NASHVILLE – The Country Music Association announced today that Jimmy Dean, Ferlin Husky, Billy Sherrill, and Don Williams will become the newest members of the coveted Country Music Hall of Fame.
Red Steagall, America’s favorite cowboy singer and storyteller, will do double duty as entertainer and interviewer for In the Bunkhouse, a weekly “cowboy variety” series that premiered November 4 on the RFD-TV network.
