There will be a benefit on Sunday, May 3, 2009, at the Brewster Street Ice House in Corpus Christi, for Rory Braun, our friend at 94.7 Badlands FM, and Texas Music World.
Johnny High is well known and the Johnny High Country Music Review is going strong after 34 years. Johnnie High’s Country Music Revue is a weekly country music variety show held at the Arlington Music Hall in Arlington, Texas in the center of the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex.
The Lord has another fine country music singer and songwriter as Vern Gosdin died in Nashville last night.
Jake Hooker and the Outsiders arrived in the mail today, by CD of course. “The Outsider” is another great CD from Jim Loessberg and Startex Records. The CD is produced by Jake Hooker and Jim Loessberg.
Gary P. Nunn, our unofficial ambassador to Texas and accomplished musician, has announced his road dates for this May 2009. I remember hearing a new song on Willies Place, played by Catfish, and wanted to know more about the artist. (Hearing something for the first time doesn’t happen very often any more.)
We are proud to tell you that Dan Roberts received the Western Heritage Wrangler Award “Outstanding Composition for 2008.” Dan Roberts is a nice guy and we are glad to see him receive the award.
