MEL TILLIS – JOHN ANDERSON – LORRIE MORGAN

TWO SHOWS: 2:00 PM & 7:00 PM

Due to a recent illness, Mickey Gilley is under doctors orders not to travel, so he will no longer be performing as scheduled on Saturday, May 1, 2010. Instead, country music legend Lorrie Morgan has been added to the schedule! She is an amazing performer and is sure to put on a great show for fans.

Returning to AMT for this star-studded triple bill, is country Legend Mel Tillis. Mel has stuttered his way into the hearts of country fans since the early ‘50s, but his vocal style is nothing but smooth.

Not only does Mel sing his own songs— hits like “I Believe in You,” but his work has also been covered by the likes of Stonewall Jackson, Little Jimmy Dickens, Bobby Bare, Ricky Skaggs, and Ray Price, to name a few. Mel adds movie star to his list of credits, appearing in such films as Every Which Way But Loose, Smokey and the Bandit, and Cannonball Run.

Mel has won awards for penning one of the most famous country hits of all time for Kenny Rogers: “Ruby, Don’t Take your Love to Town.”

Distinctive country vocalist John Anderson rounds out this triple bill, joining Lorrie Morgan and Mel Tillis on the AMT stage.

Along with contemporaries George Strait and Ricky Skaggs, John Anderson was a part of the resurgence of the traditional country sound in the ‘90s. His mega hits include: “Wild And Blue”, “Straight Tequila Night”, “Swingin’”, and of course who can forget the classic “I’m Just an Old Chunk of Coal ( But I’m Gonna be a Diamond Someday)”
